1.1 Basic Concepts

We're still have the separation anxiety in Summer Vacation! But now we're going back to the things that we used to be that so called "BACK TO REALITY, BACK TO SCHOOL".
Our class started last June 10, 2015 and one of the subjects of the 3rd year BSCpE was the Electric Circuits 1. On the first day of class of course we used to know the teacher, who he is. Our teacher in Electric Circuits 1 is Engr. Jay Villan. He taught us what was all about Electric Circuits 1 and he also mention the basic rules and regulation, grading system of the subject.

LET'S GET STARTED...
Electric Circuits – is an interconnection of electrical elements.
The function of  electric circuit is to transfer energy from one point to another.

BASIC CONCEPTS:
Charge q(t)
- It is measured in Coulombs (C)
- It is the basic quantity in an electric circuit. Defined as an electrical property of materials.
- Negative (electron) Positive (proton)
- 1 electron = -1.602x10-19C
Charge may be constant or varying.
  Current i(t)
- Measured in Amphere (A).
- Charge flow rate

Voltage v(t)
- Measured in volts (V).
- Energy required to move an unit charge through an element. The higher the voltage, the current also high. Charge rate of doing.

  Power p(t)

- Measured in watts (W).
-  Power can be absorbed or supplied by circuit elements.
-  ‘Sign’ determined by voltage and current. P=IV

Energy
- An energy has the capacity to do work
- It is measured in Joules.

Circuits Elements
- It is the basic building blocks of the elements.
- Electricity Circuit is interconnecting of the elements.
- There are three types of elements: The passive that absorb energy, active elements capable of generating energy, voltage and current sources the most important active elements.
SOURCES

- Independent Source: it does not depends to other elements to supply voltage or current.

Dependent Source – it is the reverse of independent.

I've realized that this subject is the sum up of all the previous lesson that we have during our 1st year and 2 year that's why Algebra, Geometry and other mathematics and also Physics was given before we get this subject because it serve as the basic learning so that when we reach in higher years it would be a review and recall what we have tackle in the previous years but sad to say we have that concept of "PAST IS PAST" we forgot what we have learn.
I find it difficult but still i have the courage to pursue what I've started. We all have to do is just have an utmost commitment on your study, do the best that you can be. This subject would be a milestone in the remaining years.
